Our Journey
From Service Roots to Deepwater Operator
A decade of capability-building, culminating in two world-class deepwater licences and a development program designed for responsible growth.
2010 — Service Foundations
Applefield’s roots began with Adonai Tru-Mile Energy, an oilfield services and logistics provider supporting drilling, marine operations, and environmental management in Nigeria’s upstream sector.
2013 — Expanding Through Partnerships:
Partnered with PetroTech to deliver integrated technical and field solutions, strengthening our capabilities across procurement, logistics, and well services.
2016 — Building Scale with MegaDrill:
Entered into collaboration with MegaDrill, providing high-spec drilling support and expanding our service footprint in Nigeria’s offshore oilfields.
2020 — Strategic Shift to Upstream:
Consolidated expertise from service operations and began positioning for vertical integration into exploration and production (E&P).
2023 — Formation of Applefield Oil and Gas:
Applefield formally established Applefield Oil and Gas and its E&P subsidiary, laying the foundation to transition from services to a full upstream operator and partner.
2024 — Deepwater Awards:
Awarded two prolific deepwater blocks, PPL 2005 & PPL 3017 (~1,887 sq. km), cementing our role as part of Nigeria’s next generation of indigenous deepwater operators.
2025 — Project Preparation:
Launched seismic re-acquisition, FEED design, and technical partner engagements to progress toward development.
2026–2028 — Field Development:
Execution of appraisal drilling, subsea and FPSO construction, ESIA studies, and host community development programs.
2029 — First Oil:
Targeted first oil, with plateau production forecast at ~140,000 bopd across both developments.
Future — Scaling Africa:
Growth vision includes expanding into frontier African basins and leading in low-carbon and transition-aligned energy solutions.
